NOTE: after copying, replace the old inverted commas with new inverted commas and then the code will work perfectly allright.

This is a really good idea. Bandhs are very irritating and absolutely the wrong way to protest against anything. We out here believe that if we begin to cripple the government machinery and disrupt everybody’s lives, our demands will be met. But most of the times, it doesn’t happen. It only causes more inconvenience.
And not just bandhs, everything associated with them, such as burning of effigies and everything should also be banned. Our country has a mob mentality. We’re so frustrated with the state of affairs that we will align ourselves with anybody who’s protesting and then we’ll go insane. We will shout slogans, throw stones, burn buses and burn effigies. Does it help? No. There can be numerous examples of this mob mentality. Moral policing is another one. Walks and marches also, to some extent. I’ve seen that quite a few people do it not because they actually believe in the cause, but because they want to appear cool, or simply because everybody is doing it or something like that.
And bandhs. You get to see one of them every other day. Something happens, and the other party decides to call a bandh, close the entire city, cause a lot of inconvenience only to make the ruling party realise that they don’t support a particular move. There are other better ways of catching attention. A bandh should be more of a last resort thing, not the first resort that it has now become. It loses its credibility that way. In old times, you know when a bandh happens, it’s something important. These days, it’s happening everyday so you don’t even need to give a damn about it. It’s a sad, sad situation.
