Isnt the name of the post quite big?? I could have well named it “Mixed bag”… but let it be as it is right now….
and now lets strictly follow the title…. a day of fun and dissapointment bundled together….
working with sandip sir has always been fun, and i leave no opportunity working with him… each day, i get to learn much from this person… and now my work was with sandip sir, shukla sir (vice registrar) regarding the new admissions in the college… It wasnt tough understanding the job. my job was, as the students come – cater to them, give them the kit after having organised it, get the bank receipts in order, making the data entry and helping them with their queries….. [and that was almost the entire job] while sandip sir was teaching me how to “Deal” with different kinds of people… when to act tough, when “not-so-tough”, when to motivate, when to speak arrogantly and at a high volume… when i executed them (in sir’s absense, i felt – it was working!! 
)
fun was the interaction… with shukla sir, and the students, and their parents..
dissapointment – no one’s taking computer science engineering and information technology
people seem to worry about the Recession and the no job scenario… well PLEASE DO CHOOSE THE SUBJECT WHICH YOU LOVE OR WISH TO TAKE. if you are not able to love your subject, what will you do in further studies or in your job???? the recession is a short time phenomenon and it will get over, and none the less… THINK BEYOND JOBS….
fun- the students from outside west bengal were quite cool and funny… they showed as many tantrums as was possible! from forgetting their own phone number, to shaking like a mixer grinder while speaking… one student (he took the mechanical engineering) forgot his own name… after many seconds, he responded… he was plain and simply staring at sandip sir…:P
the parents… they can pamper their children like anything. i saw a guy who came for the counselling, and with him came his entire family – mom, dad, younger sister! and a bihari guy, with whom his dad came… and along with both of them…. his grand dad!
few of the parents were irritating with their attitude.. their was a dad who (i suppose was deaf) and i went on speaking for long and in my full speed only to stop when i saw his expressionless face!
few of the bengalis were funny too! the one who scared Aritra .. cant spill much of that!
dissapointment – tomorrow sandip sir will not be there… so Shukla sir and I have to manage it, I guess…
fun – the counselling for the Mechanical started early at 6000+ rank.. and ended in a quite respectable rank… civil, electrical, EEE, ECE are going to draw their lines early tomorrow…
dissapointing – its always sad seeing two of your friends fighting… and you cant help it!
feeling sleepy, need to wake up early…. and go to the counselling tomorrow!!
